Rosa M. Cespedes, 80, Gifted Singer and Volunteer
Rosa M. Cespedes (née Rodriguez) entered into eternal rest on Thursday, November 27, 2014 in the presence of her loving daughter Rosa Navarro-Ammons.
She was born December 7, 1934 in Santurce, Puerto Rico. She moved to New York City, NY in 1947 at the age of 13 with her Uncle. She moved to Lorain with her children in 1971.
Rosa attended Sacred Heart Chapel. She loved her family and enjoyed nothing more than cooking for them and spending time with them sharing her childhood memories and recounting their childhood stories. Rosa loved her family. She was very gifted and talented and loved sharing her gifts with others. She had a beautiful voice and loved to sing. She volunteered at The Gathering Hope House teaching arts and crafts. Her other hobbies included crocheting, sewing, dancing and bingo to name a few.
She will be dearly missed and is survived by her companion of 35 years Agustin Aponte of Lorain, sons, Gabriel (Iris) Cespedes Jr., Juan Cespedes, Martin Cespedes all of Cuyahoga County and daughter Rosa (James) Navarro-Ammons of Lorain; grandchildren Gabriela Taylor, Juan Pedro Cespedes, Juan Gabriel Cespedes, Nelson Navarro, Bianca Parks, and Luz Estrella Cespedes; 7 Great grandchildren and 1 Great great grandson, and her beloved watch dog Roxie.
Rosa was preceded in death and welcomed into heaven by her Savior Jesus Christ, granddaughter Carmen Chiqui Navarro; sisters Maria de los Angeles (Gloria), Ana Maria (Magaly) Sandoval, and her parents, Florentina Ocasio and Reymundo Rodriguez.
Her family will receive friends on Sunday, November 30, 2014 from 2 until time of her funeral service at 5 PM in Richard J. Reidy Funeral Home, 1783 East 31st Street, South Lorain. Private interment will be at a later date.
