Anna Mae Gaydosh, 73, Enjoyed Researching Family Genealogy
Anna Mae Gaydosh (nee Meade), 73, of Amherst, passed away Tuesday December 2, 2014 at her home after a brief illness.
She was born March 13, 1941 in Deane, Kentucky to the late Lowell and Ruby Meade (nee Hall). She moved to Lorain in 1943 and to Amherst in 1972. She graduated from Clearview High School with the class of 1959.
She worked for Amherst Exempted Village Schools as a librarian and teachers aide for 36 years before retiring in June 2008.
Anna was a member of St. Joseph Catholic Church in Amherst and a member of the former Holy Trinity Catholic Church in Lorain. She was an active member of Slovak Sokols Wreath #111, St. Ann’s Lodge Branch #114, Holy Trinity Seniors, Holy Trinity Holy Name Society and St. Joseph Seniors. Anna volunteered with the Amherst Historical Society.
Anna enjoyed researching her family genealogy and taking pictures of family and friends. She liked carrying on the Slovak holiday traditions. Her family was most important to her.
She is survived by her husband of 52 years Stephen Gaydosh, children Mark (Kimberly) Gaydosh of Rockvale, Tennessee, Marie (Timothy) DeRuchie of Amherst and Nancy (Lane) Solak of Woodbridge, Virginia, grandchildren Crystal and Austin of Tennessee, Nicole, Felicia, Kristina and Bryan of Amherst and Samantha and Shannon of Virginia, great grandchildren Kaylee and Madalin of Tennessee, brothers James (Carol) Meade and John (Kathleen) Meade, all of Lorain and Ronald (Patricia) Meade of Punta Gorda, Florida and sister Bonnie (Dennis) Stansbery of Battle Creek, Michigan.
The family will receive friends Friday 2-4, 6-8 pm at the Gluvna-Shimo-Hromada Funeral Chapel, 3224 Broadway Ave, Lorain where St. Ann Lodge Branch #114 will pray the rosary Friday at 3:45 pm. Funeral services will be held Saturday at 10:15 am in the funeral chapel followed by the mass of Christian Burial at 11:00 am at St. Joseph Catholic Church, 200 St. Joseph Dr, Amherst. The Rev. Lawrence Martello, pastor, will officiate. Burial will follow in Calvary Cemetery in Lorain.
