Drago M. Vucic, 92, U.S. Army Veteran
Former Lorain resident, Drago M. Vucic, 92, passed away at his home on Tuesday, December 2, 2014 in Columbus following a long illness.Mr. Vucic was born in Lorain on July 20, 1922, the son of the late Steve and Mary (nee Pecaric) Vucic. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife Violet M. (Mackey) Vucic on September 16, 1998. He was a 1941 graduate of Lorain High School and a member of the First Evangelical Lutheran Church in Lorain. Drago served in the US Army during WW II and retired as a mechanical field engineer from the former US Steel plant in Lorain. He was a member of Senior Fellowship, Cosmopolitan Club, VFW Post 1079 and American Legion Post 118.
He is survived by son Jay M. (Martha) Vucic, of Canal Winchester; daughter Lynn B. (Tom) Mitchell, of Baltimore; three grandchildren, Christopher J. (Amanda) Vucic, Ryan A. Vucic, and Audra L. (Jim) Anderson; and sisters, Catherine Luczkowski and Vera Vucic both of Lorain, and Karoline (Richard) Teaman, of Summerfield, Florida.
A Memorial Service will be held at a later date.
