Kathleen C. Rusin, 87, Will be Dearly Missed
Kathleen C. Rusin (nee Curran), 87, of Lorain, died Monday December 22, 2014 in the intensive care unit at Mercy Regional Medical Center in Lorain after a brief illness.
She was born June 9, 1927 in Lorain and had been a lifelong Lorain area resident.
Kathleen graduated from St. Mary High School in Lorain in 1946 and to this day continued to meet with her classmates every month.
Kathleen was a member of St. Anthony of Padua Catholic Church in Lorain where she served as the church Sacristant for many years. She was also a Eucharistic Minister and a member of the church Marian Guild, Third Order of Franciscans and the Gentle Women in which she was a member for the past 22 years. She was also a member of the National Council of Catholic Women and had attended their mission rally for 15 years.
She is survived by her daughter Tessa Rucker (George) of Lorain, beloved grandson George Rucker Jr of Germany, brothers Richard Thomas Curran (Marilu) of California and James Curran of New Jersey and many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her husband Edward Rusin in 1983, parents Richard and Catherine Curran (nee Cloughessy) and sisters Geraldine Smith, Mary Ellen Doslovich and Dicki Fair.
The family will receive friends Friday Dec. 26th from 5:30 pm to 6:30 pm at St. Anthony of Padua Cathoilc Church, 1305 E Erie Ave, Lorain where the Marian Guild will recite the rosary prayer Friday at 6:30 pm. A mass of Christian Burial will follow on Friday at 7:00 pm in the church. The Rev. Richard Hudak, pastor, will officiate. Burial will be held on Saturday Dec. 27th at 10:00 am at Calvary Cemetery in Lorain.
