Donna R. Rivenbark, 77, Volunteered at Veterans Hospitals
Donna R. Rivenbark, 77, (nee Fields) passed away on Tuesday, December 23, 2014 peacefully, surrounded by her family following a long illness at the Ames Family Hospice in Westlake.
Mrs. Rivenbark was born in Elyria on April 20, 1937, the daughter of the late Donald F. and Hilda Pauline (nee Stiles) Fields. She graduated from Brookside High School in the Class of 1955. She was a homemaker.
She was a member of the DAV Post 20 Auxiliary and worked with the County Board of Elections as a poll worker. She and her late husband volunteered for more than 20 years at the Ohio Veterans Home in Sandusky and the Wade Park Veterans Hospital in Brecksville.
Mrs. Rivenbark was an enthusiastic collector of cookbooks and recipes, loved wintering in Myrtle Beach and reading. She never met a stranger.
She is survived by daughters Cheryl P. Engelhardt of Oberlin, Maria E Mick of Lexington, VA, Judy A Jones of Lorain, sons Michael T. Rivenbark of Centre, AL, Clifford W. Rivenbark of Elyria, 8 grandchildren, 8 great grandchildren, sisters Jean Cody and Jane Sands both of Lorain, brothers James Fields of Wakeman, Robert Fields of Centerville, Mass, and many other loving extended family.
In addition to her parents, Mrs. Rivenbark was preceded in death by her husband Clayton B. Rivenbark, Jr., on August 6, 2006 and her son Joseph G Rivenbark on March 23, 2005.
Friends may call on Saturday, December 27, 2014 from 10:00 am until services at 1:00 p.m. in the Schwartz, Spence Boyer & Cool Home For Funerals, 1124 W. 5th Street, Lorain. The Rev. Richard Hudak, pastor of St. Anthony of Padua Catholic Church and Rev. Stephen Shields, pastor of St. Thomas the Apostle Catholic Church, officiating.
Burial will be in Calvary Cemetery, Lorain.
