Photo of Jean E.  Farrow Jean E. Farrow, 78, of Vermilion and formerly of Lorain, died Thursday January 1, 2015 at Autumn Aegis Nursing Home in Lorain after a lengthy illness.

She was born October 10, 1936 in Bellevue, Ohio and had resided in Lorain most of her life before moving to Vermilion several years ago.

Jean graduated from Lorain High School in 1954 and attended Lorain Business College. She worked at US Steel in Lorain as the office manager for the supervisors for 41 years before retiring.

Jean was a member of St. Mary Catholic Church in Vermilion, St. Mary Catholic Church in Lorain, the Lakeland Women’s Club and the Secretaries Club of Lorain. She was a very competitive person who enjoyed bowling, golfing and gambling.

She is survived by her sister Dorothy Talbot (Donald) of Lorain, brother Thomas Farrow of Hilton Head, South Carolina, 11 nieces and nephews and many good friends and caregivers. She was preceded in death by her parents Thomas and Elsie Farrow (nee Ruffing) and sister Kathryn Roren.

The family will receive friends Saturday February 14th from 9:30 am until the time of a memorial mass at 10:30 am at St. Mary Catholic Church, 731 Exchange St, Vermilion. The Rev. Ronald Brickner, pastor, will officiate. A reception will be held in the church Parish Life Center immediately following mass. Burial will be held in Bellevue Cemetery in Bellevue on Monday February 16th.

Jean’s family would like to thank the nurses and staff at Mercy New Life Hospice for the care the showed Jean prior to her passing.
