Irene S. Kuzniar, 91, Loved Gardening and Baking

She was born April 4, 1923 in Cleveland and moved to Lorain as a teenager where she lived the rest of her life.

Irene worked for American Ship Building during World War II, as well as Mascon Toy Company and retired from LES Corporation in 1986. She was a member of St. Anthony of Padua Catholic Church in Lorain.

Irene was a very loving and dedicated mother and grandmother who loved gardening, especially roses, baking and was famous for her delicious nutrolls and pastries which she gave as gifts during the holidays. She loved the outdoors and enjoyed watching the birds and wildlife in her yard. Most of all she loved being with her family, especially her children and grandchildren brought her great joy. Her positive, upbeat, loving ways will be missed by many who loved her dearly.

She is survived by her daughters Carol Potter and Patricia Kuzniar, both of Lorain and Cindy Faraji (Bruce) of Elyria, grandchildren Michelle Potter, Derek Faraji and Vincent Faraji, great grandchildren Caine King and Sebastian King. She was preceded in death by her husband of 57 years Joseph “Yoazy” Kuzniar on September 3, 1999, parents Valentine and Susan Hromada (nee Havilla) and brother Steve Hromada.

The family will receive friends Tuesday 5-8 pm at the Gluvna-Shimo-Hromada Funeral Chapel, 3224 Broadway Ave, Lorain. Funeral services will be held Wednesday at 9:30 am in the funeral chapel followed by the mass of Christian Burial at 10:00 am at St. Anthony of Padua Catholic Church, 1305 E. Erie Ave, Lorain. The Rev. Richard Hudak, pastor, will officiate. Burial will follow in Calvary Cemetery in Lorain.
