Aurilla Mannillo, 94, Enjoyed playing card games like Rook and Pinochle

Photo of Aurilla Mannillo Aurilla Mannillo (nee Oberla), 94, of Sheffield Township, died Monday February 16, 2015 at Mercy New Life Hospice Center of St. Joseph in Lorain after a brief illness.

She was born August 25, 1920 in Lorain and had been a lifelong Sheffield Township area resident.

Aurilla graduated from Clearview High School. During World War II, she worked at General Industries in Elyria.

She enjoyed spending time with her family, grandchildren and great grandchildren. She was an avid Ohio State Buckeye football and men’s and women’s basketball fan. She enjoyed playing card games like Rook and Pinochle.

She is survived by her son Thomas A. Mannillo (Michele) of Lorain, daughter Carol D. Futrall (William) of Lorain, grandchildren Todd Futrall (fiancé Clyeda) of Lorain, Tracy Orseno (Tony) of North Ridgeville, Nicholas Mannillo (Denise) and Megan Mannillo, all of Lorain, great grandchildren Garrett and Zachary Orseno and Samantha Mannillo, sisters Phyllis Lantz of Amherst and Raelene Muir of Avon Lake and many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her husband of 64 years Tony Mannillo on June 20, 2002, parents Frank & Alvina Oberla (nee Cook), sisters Blanch Oberla, Muriel Rose and Bernice Salyi and brothers Russell and James Oberla.

The family will receive friends Thursday 5-8 pm at the Gluvna-Shimo-Hromada Funeral Chapel, 3224 Broadway Ave, Lorain where funeral services will be held Friday at 11:00 am. The Rev. Chris Robinson, chaplain of Mercy New Life Hospice, will officiate. Burial will follow in Elmwood Cemetery in Lorain.
