Donald V. Nicoloff, 62, Enjoyed Teaching Music and Playing with Local Bands

Photo of Donald V. Nicoloff Donald V. Nicoloff, 62 of Vermilion, passed away unexpectedly in his home Saturday, March 14, 2015.

He was born November 27, 1951 in Lorain. He graduated from Admiral King High School in 1969. He was on the high school track team.

Don lived in California for many years before returning to Lorain. He had resided in Vermilion for the past 14 years. Don owned and operated a music instrument store and was a studio musician in Los Angeles. He was a talented trumpeter, multi instrumental musician, orchestrator and composer. He enjoyed teaching music and playing with local bands. Don also hosted internet radio programs.

He will be deeply missed by his mother Virginia L. Nicoloff of Lorain; brothers Tim Nicoloff (Carmel Watters) of Las Vegas, Bob (Sheila) Nicoloff and Tom Nicoloff both of Lorain; his fiancée Lora Diaz of Vermilion and many nieces, nephews and cousins.

Don was preceded in death by his father Walter Nicoloff and his brother John Nicoloff.

His family will receive friends Monday from 4 to 7 PM in the Richard J. Reidy Funeral Home, 1783 East 31st Street, South Lorain. His funeral service will be Tuesday in the funeral home at 10 AM. Rev. Paul G. Monkowski will officiate. Private burial will be in Elmwood Cemetery, Lorain.
