Shirley J. Yeamans, Enjoyed Knitting and Reading

Mrs. Yeamans was born on April 4, 1920 in Lorain to the late Howard D. and Virginia E. (nee Witt) Andress. She was a graduate of Lorain High School, class of 1938. She was also a longtime member of the First Evangelical Lutheran Church.
She was a retired office assistant at the Lorain Telephone Company, retiring in 1985 following more than 30 years service. She was a member of the Daughters of the American Revolution. She enjoyed knitting, reading and playing both the piano and organ.
Mrs. Yeamans is survived by her son Jerome A. Yeamans of Lorain, grandchildren: Lawrence (Shari) Yeamans, Kevin Yeamans, Kim (Greg) Johnson, Lindsay (Larry) Brumit, Melissa "Missy (Ted) Frederick, Joe Yeamans, Michelle Slagle, Brian Yeamans, Alice Yeamans, 17 great grandchildren, 4 great great grandchildren and a sister Geraldine Brennen of Lorain.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband Bob E. Yeamans in 1992, sons Avery Yeamans and Ronald Yeamans, one great granddaughter, one great-great-grandchild and a sister Maxine Hartman.
Friends may call on Wednesday, April 8, 2015 from 5-8 p.m. in the Schwartz, Spence, Boyer & Cool Home For Funerals, 1124 W. 5th Street, Lorain.
Funeral services will be Thursday, April 9, 2015 in the funeral home at 10:30 a.m. with Rev. Jimmy Madsen, pastor of the First Evangelical Lutheran Church, officiating.
Burial will be in Ridge Hill Memorial Park, Amherst Twp.
The family suggest that memorial contributions may be made to the First Evangelical Lutheran Church, 603 Washington Ave., Lorain 44052.
