Eleanor Gonzales, 77, Loving Mother & Grandmother

She was born on February 23, 1938 in Lorain Ohio to Louis and Josephine (nee Gonzales) Dominguez. She graduated from Lorain High School in 1956.
Eleanor retired from ETA (Employment and Training Administration) as a job recruiter in 1993. She also worked as a secretary at Whittier Junior High and Southview High School. She enjoyed her grandchildren and loved watching and traveling with her sons while they played Fastpitch Softball. Eleanor was an avid bowler at Shoreway Lanes, Sheffield Lake and won multiples league championships with Sacred Heart and Rodriguez Dry Wall.
Eleanor was an active member of St. Frances Cabrini Parish and the former St. John Church. She was a member of the Guadalupe Society of St. Frances Cabrini, Mexican Mutual, Moose Lodge, MACC (Mexican American Citizens Club) and Los Fanaticos Browns Backers Club.
She will be deeply missed by her of husband 22 years Paul Gonzalez, sons Richard J. (Sharon) Strong of Vermilion and Steven L. (Daphne) Strong of Lorain, step-children, Steven Gonzales of Luta, Florida and Carla Ann, (Edward, Tra) Pissott of Tampa, Florida; grandchildren: Tony Post and Tracy Post, Kenny Cooper, Danny Snow, Haley Strong, Zack Russ, Casey Gonzales, Tyler Strong and great-grandchildren: Anthony AJ, Ava, Kali and Joanna.
Eleanor was preceded in death by her parents, Louis and Josephine (nee Gonzales) Dominguez, brothers; Francisco, Manual, Louis, Martin, Joseph and Lupe, sisters; Trinidad Dominguez, Laura Espitia, Francis Margie Maloy, Marcella Rose Belch.
Her family will receive friends Wednesday, May 20, 2015 from 4 to 8 PM in the Richard J. Reidy Funeral Home, 1783 East 31st Street, South Lorain. Her funeral service will be Thursday with closing prayers in the funeral home at 10:30 AM., then funeral mass at 11 AM in Saint Frances Xavier Cabrini Parish, 2143 Homewood Dr. (Grove Ave. and Homewood Dr.) Lorain Ohio. Rev. Father John C. Retar, Pastor will officiate. Burial will follow in Calvary Cemetery, Lorain.
