Mary H. Huber, 85, Enjoyed Gardening, Cooking, and Traveling

Photo of Mary H. Huber Mary H. Huber (nee Kundrat), 85, of Amherst Township, passed away peacefully on Monday December 28, 2015 at Brookdale Westlake Village in Westlake surrounded by her loving family.
She was born October 14, 1930 in Lorain and had been a lifelong Amherst Township/Lorain area resident.

Mary graduated from Lorain High School where she was a member of the Scotty Club. She worked at Sutter’s Restaurant in downtown Lorain and as a baker at Penton’s Farm Market in Amherst.
She was a member of St. Nicholas Byzantine Rite Catholic Church in Lorain where she helped cook in the kitchen for church functions.

Mary’s mother passed away when she was 16 years old and Mary took on the responsibilities of the household with her family. Her home became a regular meeting place for family events and activities.

She enjoyed gardening, flowers, cooking, crossword puzzles and traveling. She was able to visit Bajerovce, Slovakia the area where her family emigrated. She enjoyed attending her grandchildren’s sporting events.

She is survived by her children Joseph J. Huber (Connie) of Amherst Township, Suzanne Schneider (Ken) of Amherst, Sandra Kozlowski (Brian) of Amherst Township and Sharie Murray (Tom) of Roswell, Georgia, grandchildren Mike Schneider, Tim Schneider, Joe Huber, Josh Huber, Jenna Huber, Elizabeth Kozlowski, Rebecca Kozlowski, Tyler Murray (Chelsea), Connor Murray and Colton Murray and brother Steve Kundrat of Hilton Head, SC. She was preceded in death by her loving husband of 63 years Joseph B. “Coke” Huber on April 28, 2015, two children in infancy, parents John & Zuzanne Kundrat (nee Lash) and brothers George and John Kundrat.
The family will receive friends Friday 3-7 pm at the Gluvna-Shimo-Hromada Funeral Chapel, 3224 Broadway Ave, Lorain. Members of the St. Nicholas Altar & Rosary Society will recite the rosary Friday at 3:00 pm in the funeral chapel followed by the Parastas Service at 3:30 pm. Panachida services will be held Saturday at 9:30 am in the funeral chapel followed by the Divine Liturgy at 10:00 am at St. Nicholas Byzantine Rite Catholic Church, 2711 W. 40th St., Lorain. The Rev. Nicholas Rachford, pastor, will officiate. Burial will follow in Calvary Cemetery in Lorain.

The family would like to thank the nurses and staff at Metro Health Medical Center in Cleveland, Westlake Village and Crossroads Hospice for the care the provided to Mary.
