Craig Jackson Bowles, 33, Avid Soccer Player

He entered into the Lord's Kingdom on his Grandma Kissel's birthday.

Craig was born in Lorain November 9, 1982 and had lived in the Kansas City area for the last 9 years, following his mother to the area. He went to Lorain Catholic Elementary Schools, then graduated from North Olmsted High. He was an avid soccer player during those years in Lorain and on traveling teams. He enjoyed fishing, especially on Lake Erie, boating, swimming, the Browns, Indians, then Royals, sports, movies, and video games. Craig was a very creative artist and writer. He was talented at trivia, knowing sports athletes, actors, movies, history. Craig earned his living as a union laborer, working at Kokosing Construction in Ohio, then George Shaw in Kansas City, among other firms as a member of Local 1290.

He was preceded in death by his adopted grandparents, Mr. and Mrs. Woodrow Mathna, grandparents Mr. and Mrs. Ambrose Kissel, and is survived by his mother, Joni J. Kissel and stepfather Terrence Simonson, formerly of the Lorain area but now in Kansas City, sister and brother-in-law, Julie (Bowles) and Dan Patton, Cleveland, daughter Brianna, Scotland, aunts and uncles Jeannie and Bill McCale, Patti and Ernie Murray, cousins Bill, Wendy, Colleen, and Greg. We will miss his keen wit. His memories and love will live in our hearts forever.

The family will receive friends on Thursday, January 21st from 7-9pm at the Gluvna-Shimo-Hromada Funeral Chapel, 3224 Broadway Ave, Lorain. A memorial mass will be held Friday January 22nd at 10:00 am at St. Mary Catholic Church, 309 W. 7th St. Lorain with the Rev. Daniel O. Divis, pastor, officiating.

Memorial contributions may be given to St. Jude's Children's Research Hospital, 501 St. Jude Place Memphis, TN 38105.
