Gerald E. Comer, 80, U.S. Army Veteran
Gerald E. "Jerry" Comer, 80, of Lorain passed away Wednesday morning, February 10, 2016 at Mercy-New Life Hospice of St. Joseph in Lorain following a brief illness.
Mr. Comer was born in Lorain on June 20, 1935, the son of the late Eugene and Florence Roche Comer. A lifelong resident of Lorain, he was a graduate of St. Mary's Academy and was a US Army Veteran of the Korean War. Mr. Comer earned a bachelor's degree from the University of Dayton.
He was a real estate broker with MAC Realty in Lakewood following a long career at the family business, the former Warmee Inc. Real Estate in Lorain. He also taught school for 8 years at Lakeview School prior to his real estate career.
Mr. Comer was very active in the Lorain Rotary for the past 41 years and was a past Board Member. He was also a member of the Elks Lodge # 1301, Cuyahoga Board of Real Estate and a former member of the Lorain Board of Real Estate.
He is survived by his wife of 53 years, Brenda Warmee, sons, Brian J. (Sandy) Comer of Powell, James W. (Julie) Comer of Bloomfield, MI, David G. Comer of Lorain, daughter, Kristen C. (Chris) Morris of Lorain, grandchildren, Matthew Comer, Christian Comer, James Comer, Ryan Comer, Mark Morris, Erin Morris, Cameron Comer, Carson Comer, Charles Comer. Also surviving are his brothers Richard E. (Donna) Comer of Avon, and Robert (Diane) Comer of Fairhope, Alabama.
Friends may call on Saturday morning, February 13, 2016 from 10:00 am till 11:00 am in the St. Mary Church, corner of Eighth and Reid Avenues, followed at 11:00 am with a Mass of Christian Burial with Father Daniel O. Divis, pastor, officiating.
Burial will follow in the Calvary Cemetery with full military honors provided by the Lorain Honor Guard.
