Aileen B. Brown, 93, Enjoyed Playing Bingo and Reading

Photo of Aileen B. Brown Aileen B. Brown (nee Ream), 93, of Amherst, died Saturday February 27, 2016 at the home of her daughter Karen after a sudden illness.

She was born January 27, 1923 in Alliance, Ohio and had resided in Amherst since 2005 moving from Sheffield Lake where she had resided for over 50 years.

Aileen worked as a waitress at several restaurants in the Sheffield Lake area and at the Breezewood Party Center. She also volunteered for functions and fundraisers such as raising money for the Diabetes Association. She enjoyed playing bingo, casino trips, reading and word search puzzles.

She is survived by her daughter with whom she made her home Karen Whitten (Noel) of Amherst, sons: Russell R. Brown (Deborah) of N. Fort Myers, Florida and Bill Brown & Rob Phillips, both of Akron; grandchildren Brian Brown (Julia) of Wakeman and Laurie Szabo (Mike) of Attica; great grandchildren: Brooke, Brecka & Michael Szabo; Victoria and Gregory Brown and sister Melba Ganslein of North Carolina. She was preceded in death by her husband of 59 years Russell Brown in 2007, daughter Deborah A. Brown in 1955, parents Noel & Eva Jane Ream (nee Motherspaugh), brothers Loy & Vere Ream and sister Maxine Mannypenny.

Private family funeral services will be held with burial in Ridge Hill Memorial Park in Amherst Township.

Arrangements are under the direction of Gluvna-Shimo-Hromada Funeral Chapel, 3224 Broadway Ave, Lorain.
