David J. Varbanoff, 65, U.S. Air Force Veteran

He was born February 6, 1951 in Lorain and had been a lifelong Lorain area resident.
David graduated from Admiral King High School in 1969 and served with the US Air Force from 1971-1973. He graduated from the Lincoln School of Welding where he became a certified welder and worked as a welder for several area companies.
David was a member of the former St. Vitus Catholic Church in Lorain and a life member of Disabled American Veterans Chapter #20 in Lorain.
He was very artistic making drawings and metal sculptures. He enjoyed motorcycles.
He is survived by his mother Jennie Varbanoff (nee Dudukovich), sister Susan J. Noe (Vaughn) of Sheffield Village, brother Kenneth A. Varbanoff of Murfreesboro, Tennessee; nieces and nephews: Jeffrey Noe, Joclyn Fada (Chris), Adam Varbanoff (Courtney) and Danielle Varbanoff and great nieces Madelyn & Sophie Fada. He was preceded in death by his father Verban J. Verb Varbanoff in 2007.
The family will receive friends Monday March 28th from 4-8 pm at the Gluvna-Shimo-Hromada Funeral Chapel, 3224 Broadway Ave, Lorain. Funeral services will be held Tuesday March 29th at 11:00 am in the funeral chapel. The Rev. John Slatcoff, deacon of St. Vincent de Paul Catholic Church in Elyria Township, will preside. Burial will follow in Calvary Cemetery in Lorain where the Disabled American Veterans Chapter # 20 of Lorain will conduct military honors.
