Brenda G. Henley, 61, Avid Star Trek Fan

Photo of Brenda G. Henley Brenda G. Henley, age 61, of Wellington, passed away on the evening of Thursday April 7th, 2016 while a resident of the Rescare Center.

She was born in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania on February 16, 1955 and had been a resident of Wellington for the past two years; she had previously resided in Oberlin.

Brenda had been employed as a production assistant at the Murray Ridge Workshop in Elyria. She had also worked as a customer care specialist at the McDonald’s Restaurant in Oberlin.

An avid Star Trek fan, Miss Henley was active with the Special Olympics competing in volleyball and bowling from 1993-1994. In her free time she enjoyed listening to country and western music and following the Cleveland Indians. Additional interests included horseback riding and swimming.

She is survived by a host of cousins including Rebecca Cornman of Elyria, Linda Martinez of California, Melissa Bell, Nick Walters, and Larry Walters all residing in Tennessee, Laura Parham of Florida, and Les Henley of Arizona.

Brenda was preceded in death by her parents Leslie and Helen Henley, and by her cousin Janie Karolak.

Visitation will be Thursday from 5:00 until 7:00 p.m. in the Gluvna- Shimo-Hromada Funeral Chapel, 3224 Broadway Avenue, Lorain. Burial will be in Decker, Tennessee.

The family encourages memorial contributions to either Murray Ridge Center or Rescare (formerly Weber’s Nursing Home).
