Thomas Teaman, Jr., 92, U.S. Army Veteran
Thomas Teaman, Jr., age 92, of Elyria, passed away on Thursday July 7, 2016 at UH Elyria Medical Center.
He was born in Lorain on February 15, 1924 and had been a resident of Elyria for the past 8 � years.
A graduate of Clearview High School, Mr. Teaman was a veteran of the United States Army where he fulfilled duty assignments as a PFC attached to the medical warehouse at Percy Jones General Hospital at Fort Custer, Michigan. He was a life member of Mullen-Murray VFW Post # 451 in Lorain.
He was employed in the shipping department of the Bendix Corporation for many years retiring from the manufacturer in 1983.
A 32nd Degree Mason, Tom was a member of Mid-Century Lodge # 725 of the F. & A.M. in Avon Lake and was a past member of Charleston Lodge # 702; he was also affiliated with the Lorain County Scottish Rite. In his free time he enjoyed travel and fishing. He also liked league bowling and was the recipient of the 7-10 Split patch.
He is survived by his son Gary A. Teaman (Debra) of Avon, by daughters Gail A. Brunetto of Amherst and Cynthia S. Jackson (Ronald) of Toledo, along with seven grandchildren and eight great grandchildren. Additional survivors include brothers Robert (Linda) of Lexington, Tennessee, Richard (Karol) of Indian Harbor Beach, Florida, and Harvey (Marilyn) of San Antonio, Texas. He also leaves his companion Delores Markle of Elyria.
Tom was preceded in death by his wife Geraldine (nee Yunker) in 2007, and by his parents Thomas and Matilda (nee Wallace) Teaman.
Friends may call Tuesday from 4 until 8 p.m.in the Gluvna-Shimo-Hromada Funeral Chapel, 3224 Broadway Avenue, Lorain. Funeral services will be Wednesday at 10:00 a.m. in the funeral chapel with Reverend Dennis White and Reverend Johnny Crawford co-officiating. Burial will follow in Ridge Hill Memorial Park where military honors will be conducted by Louis Paul Proy Chapter # 20 of the Disabled American Veterans.
