Matthew S. Hatfield Sr., 35, Enjoyed Spending Time with Children and Friends

Photo of Matthew S. Hatfield Sr. Matthew S. Hatfield Sr, 35, of Lorain, died Wednesday July 13, 2016 from injuries sustained in a motorcycle accident.

He was born March 6, 1981 in Geneva and had resided in the Lorain area most of his life.

Matthew worked for Ironworkers Local #17 in Cleveland. He enjoyed spending time with his children and friends and riding his motorcycle.

He is survived by his girlfriend of 11 years Lauren Shea and their children Matthew Scott Hatfield, Jr and Madison Lynn Hatfield, both at home; son Tyler Matthew Scott Hatfield of Avon Lake; mother Rhonda Johnson of Elyria; stepfather Michael Johnson; brothers and sisters Donald Hatfield II, Jasmine Johnson, Ashley Johnson, Jacqueline Johnson, Rebecca Hatfield, Patricia Hatfield, Dawn Hatfield, James Hatfield and Shawn Hatfield; nephew Jordan Hatfield and niece Yomiralyn Gonzalez. He was preceded in death by his father Donald Hatfield.

The family will receive friends Sunday July 17th from 2:00-6:00 pm at the Gluvna-Shimo-Hromada Funeral Chapel, 3224 Broadway Ave, Lorain. Funeral services will be held Monday July 18th at 11:00 am in the funeral chapel. The Rev. Danny Parson, pastor of New Life Harvest Church in Elyria, will preside. Burial will follow in Elmwood Cemetery in Lorain.

Memorial contributions can be made to the family to establish education funds for Matthew’s children.
