Rose Del Monico, 92, Devoted Life to Loved Ones

Photo of Rose  Del Monico Rose Del Monico (nee Vommaro), 92, of Lorain, passed away Monday July 25, 2016 at Autumn Aegis Nursing Home in Lorain while under the care of Sprenger Hospice.

She was preceded in death by her beloved husband of 62 years Frank Del Monico, Sr in 2009; parents Joseph and Elizabeth Vommaro (nee Naccarotto); brother James Vommaro and sisters Mary Taube and Emily Frangela.

She is survived by her loving children: Elizabeth Del Monico of Sheffield Lake, Joseph Del Monico and wife Gina of Lorain, Peter Del Monico and wife Linda of Amherst and Frank Del Monico, Jr and wife Linda of Lorain. In addition, she leaves behind six cherished grandchildren and eight beloved great grandchildren as well as many nieces and nephews, all of whom dearly loved her. She also leaves behind her lifelong friend, cousin Mary, of Chicago, Illinois.

Rose was born in Chicago, Illinois and moved to Lorain after her marriage. She worked at Superior Match Company, Mascon Toy Company and DeLuca’s Catering. Her true profession, however, was as a homemaker devoting her whole life to her loved ones. Rose was the heart and soul of her family, providing them with a loving home, no nonsense advice, delicious meals and unparalled devotion. She will be immeasurably missed by all who loved her.

The family will receive friends Wednesday July 27th from 4:00-8:00 pm at the Gluvna-Shimo-Hromada Funeral Chapel, 3224 Broadway Ave, Lorain. Funeral services will be held Thursday July 28th at 10:00 am in the funeral chapel. The Rev. Craig Hovanec, pastor of St. Peter Parish, will preside. Burial will follow in Ridge Hill Memorial Park in Amherst Twp.
