Patricia L. Schmitz, 84, Enjoyed Traveling

She was born November 3, 1931 in Lorain and had been a lifelong Lorain area resident.

Patricia graduated from Lorain High School Class of 1949B. She was a member of St. Anthony of Padua Catholic Church in Lorain where she was active in the kitchen and was a member of the Senior Sociables, Paduan Travelers and Marian Guild. She was a past president of the Marian Guild and was named Woman-of-the-Year in 1988. She enjoyed traveling.

She is survived by her sons: Jeffrey R. Schmitz (Barbara) of Marblehead, Dale E. Schmitz of Tampa, Florida, Mark H. Schmitz (Terri) of Des Plaines, Illinois, Brian P. Schmitz of Lorain and Edwin W. Schmitz, Jr (Pamela) of Vermilion; grandchildren: Daniel, Michael, Annie, Samantha and Xavier and sister Joyce Smith (James) of Vermilion. She was preceded in death by her husband of 50 years Edwin W. Schmitz, Sr in 2003, parents Raymond and Mary Bark (nee Brandt) and sister Marilyn Eiden.

The family will receive friends Monday August 1st from 2:00-8:00 pm at the Gluvna-Shimo-Hromada Funeral Chapel, 3224 Broadway Ave, Lorain. Funeral services will be held Tuesday August 2nd at 9:30 am in the funeral chapel followed by the mass of Christian Burial at 10:00 am at St. Anthony of Padua Catholic Church, 1305 E. Erie Ave, Lorain. The Rev. Edward Smith, pastor, will officiate. Burial will follow in Ridge Hill Memorial Park in Amherst Township.
