Joann E. Koch, 87, Loved Watching Game Shows

Photo of Joann E. Koch Joann E, Koch, 87, of Lorain passed away on Wednesday, September 21, 2016 at the St. John Westshore Medical Center in Westlake following a brief illness.

Mrs. Koch was born in Amherst on September 7, 1929, the daughter of the late Lloyd and Edna (nee Keisler) Emmerich. She graduated from Lorain High School in the class of 1948A. She was a homemaker.

She loved watching game shows on TV, crossword puzzles, bowling and being a member of several card playing clubs.

Mrs. Koch is survived by daughters Shary L. (Tom) Barnes of Lorain, Karen A. Bevan of Sheffield Lake, sons, Gary M. Koch of Minot, North Dakota, Edward L. Koch of Lorain, Carl W. (Lisa) Koch of Elyria, 5 grandchildren, and two great grandchildren.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Stephen W. Koch in 2000, and her grandson Airman First Class Eric Michael Barnes, KIA-Iraq on June 10, 2007, sister Marlene Regler and brother Gerald Emmerich.

Friends may call on Sunday, September 25, 2016 from 2-6 p.m. in the Schwartz, Spence, Boyer & Cool Home For Funerals, 1124 W. 5th Street, Lorain.

Funeral services will be Monday, September 25, 2016 at 11:00 am in the funeral home with Rev. Greg Sellers, pastor of the Lorain Lighthouse United Metodist Church, officiating.

Burial will follow in Ridge Hill Memnorial Park, Amherst Township.
