David Del Valle, 62, Sense of Humor Will Be Deeply Missed

Photo of David Del Valle David Del Valle, 62, of Lorain, passed away peacefully, surrounded by his family in his sister’s home Thursday, October 6, 2016 following a long battle with cancer.

He was born October 18, 1953 in San Lorenzo, Puerto Rico. He came with his family to Lorain in 1958. He graduated from Southview High School in 1971. He received an Associate Degree in Computer Science from Lorain County Community College.

David enjoyed his work as a Transporter for Mercy Regional Center where he worked for the last 15 years until August of this year. He was appreciated by those who knew him for his attentive service to the patients. His sense of humor will be deeply missed by all. David was generous to his family, from sharing gifts with his nieces and nephews during the holidays, to being available to family in times of need. He enjoyed sports, especially swimming and playing volleyball at the beach. He enjoyed listening to music and playing songs on the guitar, having been self-taught. He also loved sharing Worship Music with others. David shared of his faith in the Lord, especially throughout his battle with cancer. David was a member of Broadway Assembly, Lorain.

He leaves behind his brothers Roberto (Brunilda) Del Valle, Gerry Del Valle, Irvin (Rosa) Del Valle all of Lorain; sisters Lourdes (Richard) Hardy of Lorain and Elizabeth (Eddie) Bauza of Sheffield Lake; nieces and nephews Elizabeth, Karina, Alicia, Marisa, Liana, Luke, Andre, Gabriel , great niece and nephews Tiana, Kirk
and Jacob.

David was preceded in death by his parents Jesus in 2012 and Genoveva Del Valle (née Galarza) in 1997; and a sister Amparo Del Valle in 2010.

The family would like to thank co- workers, members of his church community, and friends who showered David with prayers, kind words and affection. His family will receive friends Sunday, October 9 from 4 to 8 PM in the Richard J. Reidy Funeral Home, 1783 East 31st Street, South Lorain. His funeral will be in the funeral home Monday at 10:00 AM. Rev. Matt Jones, Pastor of Broadway Assembly will officiate. Burial will follow in Calvary Cemetery.
