Maria Silva, 84, Devoted Wife, Mother, Sister and Grandmother

She was born June 22, 1932, in Vega Baja, Puerto Rico to Gregorio and Esmeralda Sanchez. Maria was a devoted wife, mother, sister and grandmother. She was one of the kindest people you could ever meet. She opened her heart and home to everyone over the years and all those who entered through her doors became family. She was an active member of Sacred Heart Chapel in Lorain.

Maria, is survived by her children Luis F. Silva (Iris) of Elyria, Diana (Ken) Silva–Rebman of Avon Lake, Juan (Nidia) Silva of Lorain, Maria (Joe) Silva of Lorain, Mabel (Michael) Silva of Willoughby, Nancy (Orlando) Silva–Rivera, Maribel Silva, Edwin (Victoria) Silva all of Lorain, 38 grandchildren, 47 great grandchildren and 1 great-great grandchild, brothers Miguel Sanchez of Lorain and Tomas Sanchez of Puerto Rico.

Maria is preceded in death by her husband Felipe D. Silva, daughters Evelyn Silva, Doris Silva and son Norbert Silva.

Her family will receive friends Wednesday, October 19 from 4 to 8 PM in Sacred Heart Chapel, 4301 Pearl Avenue. Friends may also call Thursday from 8:30 AM until time of Mass of Christian Burial at 9:30 AM. Rev. Father Manuel Cordova of San Salvador will officiate. Burial will follow in Calvary Cemetery, Lorain.
