Ted J. Tokarczyk Jr., 64, U.S. Marine Veteran

Photo of Ted J. Tokarczyk Jr. Ted J. Tokarczyk Jr, 64, of Lorain, died unexpectedly at his home Sunday October 23, 2016.

He was born March 29, 1952 in Lorain and had been a lifelong Lorain resident.

Ted graduated from Lorain High School in 1970 and served with the US Marine Corps as a Lance Corporal during the Vietnam War. He was awarded the National Defense Service Medal.

Ted served as a Police Officer in the city of Lorain for 27 years retiring in 2004 with the rank of Sergeant.

He was a member of Nativity of the Blessed Virgin Mary Catholic Church in Lorain and a life member of AMVETS Post #47 in Lorain. He enjoyed playing poker.

He is survived by his wife of 42 years Arlene Tokarczyk (nee Waseleski); children: Nicole Dore of Lorain, Emily Tokarczyk of Lorain and Michael Tokarczyk (Kristy) of Avon; grandchildren: Krista Dore, Anna Dore, Lauryn McMillan, Isabella McMillan, Aliyah Gamble, Laney Tokarczyk and Jace Tokarczyk and brother David Tokarczyk of Lorain. He was preceded in death by his parents Ted J. Tokarczyk Sr and Roberta Tokarczyk (nee Kochheiser).

The family will receive friends Wednesday October 26th from 3:00-7:00 pm at the Gluvna-Shimo-Hromada Funeral Chapel, 3224 Broadway Ave, Lorain. Funeral services will be held Thursday October 27th at 9:30 am in the funeral chapel followed by the mass of Christian Burial at 10:00 am at Nativity of the Blessed Virgin Mary Catholic Church, 1454 Lexington Ave, Lorain. The Rev. Robert J. Glepko, pastor, will officiate. Burial will follow in Ridge Hill Memorial Park in Amherst Township where the Disabled American Veterans Louis Paul Proy Chapter #20 of Lorain will conduct military honors.
