Donald L. Hall, 61, Enjoyed Boating and Fishing

He was born August 26, 1955 in Amherst and had been a lifelong Lorain area resident.
Squeaky attended Lorain High School and served with the US Army from 1972-1977. While in the service, he was involved in a motor vehicle accident that nearly took his life. After being told he would never walk again, he underwent several surgeries and spent several months in therapy until he could walk normally.
Squeaky worked at the Lorain Ford Assembly Plant and the Avon Lake Truck Plant as a tow motor operator retiring in 2012.
He was a car enthusiast and owned a 1964 Corvette that he totally restored and a 2015 Corvette. He also enjoyed his Harley Davidson motorcycle and his Polaris Slingshot motor vehicle. He enjoyed boating, fishing, going to auctions, using his metal detector, coin collecting, traveling and scuba diving and made dives to the Great Barrier Reef and the Cayman Islands.
He is survived by his son William Betts; mother Bonnie (William) Hartsell (nee Lautner) of Ashland; brother Mark (Robin) Hall of Lorain; sister Tammy (Ray) McGinnis of Elyria; several grandchildren, nieces, nephews and cousins and former wife Delilah Towarnicke of North Ridgeville. He was preceded in death by his son Donald Felix Betts, father Lewis McDonald Hall and brothers Eric, Michael and John Hall.
The family will receive friends Sunday November 20th from 5:00-7:00 pm at the Gluvna-Shimo-Hromada Funeral Chapel, 3224 Broadway Ave, Lorain. Funeral services will follow on Sunday at 7:00 pm in the funeral chapel. The Rev. Susan Knauff of True Blessings Ministries will officiate. Cremation will follow and a private family interment of his ashes will be held later at Ridge Hill Memorial Park in Amherst Township.
