Victor M. Castillo, 64, U.S. Army Veteran

Photo of Victor M. Castillo Victor M. Castillo, 64, of Lorain, passed away Monday, November 21, 2016 in New Life Hospice Center, Lorain of a brief illness.

He was born June 15, 1952 in Rio Piedras, Puerto Rico. Victor came to Lorain in 1995. He proudly served in the U. S. Army earning the National Defense Service Metal and Sharpshooters Badge. He worked in the housekeeping department Veterans in Hospital Rio Piedras. Victor attended Sacred Heart Chapel.

He will be deeply missed by his spouse Maritza; sons, Victor Castillo Jr., Larry Castillo, Erik Castillo, Alexi Castillo, Henry (Venessa) Castillo and Michael Castillo all of Lorain; daughters, Madeline Matos of Lorain and Jaqueline (Jesus) Salgado of Houston, Texas; brothers, Papo Castillo of Rio Piedras, Flaco Castillo and Pollo Castillo both of Lorain and Blanco Castillo of Humacao, Puerto Rico and a sister Digna Castillo of Caguas, Puerto Rico.

He was preceded in death by his parents; Ramon and Aurora (nee Vasquez) Castillo and a brother Edwin Castillo.

His family will receive friends Monday, November 28, from 4 to 8 PM at the Richard J. Reidy Funeral Home, 1783 East 31st Street, South Lorain. Friends may also call Tuesday, 8:30 AM until time of his Funeral Mass at 9:30 AM in Sacred Heart Chapel, 4301 Pearl Avenue, Lorain. Rev. Father William A. Thaden will officiate. Burial will follow at Ridge hill Memorial Park, Amherst Township. The Disabled American Veterans Louis Paul Proy Chapter 20 will conduct Military Honors.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Henry Castillo to offset burial expenses.
