Eleanor F. Kolena, 99, Enjoyed Gardening and Cooking

She was the beloved wife of the late Judge John S. Kolena for 42 years. She was 99 years old.

She lived a happy life surrounded by her loving family. She was a member of St. Peter Parish and Holy Trinity Catholic Church. Throughout her life, she enjoyed gardening, cooking, being with family and friends and the Cleveland Indians.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Rafira and Filip Cucu. She is survived by her children John Kolena, Dave Kolena (Linda), Bev Abranovich (Eric), and Tom Kolena (Patti). She also cherished her grandchildren Jeff, Brian, Laura, Michael (Brittney), Elizabeth and Matthew Kolena.

A special thank you to all nurses and aides at Avon Oaks Caring Community who assisted in care over the last five years, especially Carneia Gibson. Their care and compassion throughout her time there was a comfort and a blessing.

A funeral Mass will be held on Friday, December 16 at 12:00 pm at St Peter Parish, 3501 Oberlin Ave., Lorain. The Rev. Lou Papes and The Rev. Craig Hovanec will concelebrate. The family will have visitation beginning at 11:00 a.m. at St. Peter Parish. Burial will follow at Calvary Cemetery in Lorain.
