Rita B. Koncheck, 81, Enjoyed Gardening, Crafting and Painting

She was born October 30, 1935 in Youngstown, Pennsylvania and graduated from Immaculate Conception High School in Connellsville, Pennsylvania in 1953. She relocated to Lorain in 1955.

Rita worked at Kline’s Department Store in Lorain in the credit office for 11 years and modeled for the store. Following that, she worked at Russell, Berkebile & Associates in Lorain as a billing clerk from 1975 until her retirement in 1998.

She was a member of St. Thomas the Apostle Catholic Church in Sheffield Lake. She enjoyed gardening, crafting and painting.

She is survived by her sisters: Sister Rosemary Concheck O.P. of Lancaster, Pennsylvania and Ruth Geierman of Sheffield Lake; brothers Daniel Concheck (Georgianna) of Lorain and Joseph Concheck of Canal Fulton; sister-in-law Margaret Koncheck of Uniontown, PA; brother-in-law Gerald Glover of Uniontown, PA and many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents Charles and Veronica Koncheck (nee Tomko), brothers: Carl, Louis, Steve and Rudolph and sisters: Wilma, Irene, Catherine Bodnar and Eleanor Glover.

The family will receive friends Tuesday December 27th from 6:00-8:00 pm at the Gluvna-Shimo-Hromada Funeral Chapel, 3224 Broadway Ave, Lorain and on Wednesday December 28th from 9:30 am until the time of the mass of Christian Burial at 10:00 am at St. Thomas the Apostle Catholic Church, 521 Harris Rd, Sheffield Lake. The Rev. Stephen Shields, pastor, will officiate. Rita will then be taken to the Stephen R. Haky Funeral Home, 607 N. Gallatin Ave, Uniontown, PA. where the family will receive friends Thursday December 29th from 10:00 am until the time of funeral services at 11:00 am. Burial will follow in St. Mary Cemetery in Uniontown.
