Francisca Urbina, 97, Loving Mother, Grandmother and Widow

She was born in Talaiua Viejo, Bolivar, Colombia on October 10, 1919. Francisca came to Norwalk, Connecticut in 1970 where she worked for a year at Diane Knit Fabrics. Shortly thereafter she moved to Cleveland, Ohio and worked as a seamstress for the Richman Brothers Co. before finally moving to Lorain in 1989.
Francisca was a loving mother, grandmother and widow. She was a member of the Sacred Heart Chapel, Lorain where she served as a lector. Francisca was known for her love of books, crochet, cooking, gardening, puzzles and abounding wisdom.
She will be lovingly remembered by her daughters, Alicia Claudio, of Lorain and Cenira Santana of Cleveland; sister Sixta Urbina of Barranquilla, Colombia; her niece Esther Kritharakis of Lakewood; four loving grandchildren; three great grandchildren; and many nephews and nieces.
Francisca was preceded in death by her parents Sixto Urbina and Eusebia Guttierez and 8 siblings.
Her family will receive friends Tuesday, December 20 from 4 to 8 p.m. at the Richard J. Reidy Funeral Home, 1783 East 31st Street, South Lorain. Friends may also call Wednesday, December 21 at the Sacred Heart Chapel, 4301 Pearl Avenue, Lorain from 8:30 a.m. until time of Mass of Christian Burial at 9:30 a.m. The Rev. Father William A. Thaden, Pastor, will be the celebrant. Burial will follow at Riverside Cemetery, 3607 Pearl Rd, Cleveland, OH 44109.
