Margaret J. Mihuta, 89, Will be Dearly Missed

Photo of Margaret J. Mihuta Margaret J. Mihuta (née Daraby) 89, of Lorain, passed away Friday, December 23, 2016 at her home after a long illness.

Margaret was born February 10, 1927 in Messina, New York. She was raised in Elyria and graduated from Elyria High School in 1945. Margaret married John Mihuta in 1948 and had two children, Patricia Marie and Thomas John. Margaret worked for Kroger’s and a dry cleaner. Her husband died in 1952. After being widowed she attended Lorain Business School. While working for Troxel, Moen and General Industries she graduated from Lorain Cosmetology Institute receiving her license. Margaret owned and operated Patricie’s Beauty Salon from 1955 until 1992. Margaret was an excellent baker and cook. She bowled for 35 years at Shoreway Lanes in Sheffield, for the Monday Night Rollers and served as there treasurer. She was a member of St. Mary Catholic Church, Lorain. She showed her children what strength, love, will power and determination could accomplish.

She leaves behind to cherish her memory a daughter Patricia Mihuta of Lorain; daughter in law Sandra Mihuta of Sheffield; nephew Michael Daraby of Lorain and niece Rose Marie Berg of North Ridgeville.

Margaret was also preceded in death by her son Thomas J. Mihuta in 2002; her parents Michael and Marie (née Deitiemeter) Daraby; sisters Helen Barcellio, Rose Nagy, and Julia Kolher and brothers Nick and George Daraby.

Margaret’s family thanks Mercy Hospice for their excellent care and compassion. With a special thanks to Cindy and Dawnyelle.

Her family will receive friends Tuesday, December 27 from 9 AM until time of Closing Prayers at 9:30 AM in Richard J. Reidy Funeral Home, 1783 East 31st Street, South Lorain. Then, Mass of Christian Burial at 10 AM in St. Mary Catholic Church. 8th Street and Reid Avenue, Lorain. Rev. Father James Betchere, retired will officiate. Burial will follow in Ridge Hill Memorial Park, Amherst Township.
