Ines Cortes, 76, Former Owner of Cortes Grocery
Ines Cortes, 76, (nee Ruiz) of Lorain passed away on Friday, December 30, 2016 at Anchor Lodge Retirement Village following a long illness.
Mrs. Cortes was born in Puerto Rico on April 21, 1940, the daughter of the late Angel Maria and Maria (nee Fantauzzi) Ruiz. She attended the House of Praise International Church.
She and her late husband were the owners/operators of the Cortes Grocery in Lorain for many years. Most recently she was a homemaker.
Mrs. Ines is survived by sons Enrique "Rick" (Nereida) Cortes, Anibal Cortes, Jr. both of Lorain, grandchildren Manuel Ramos, Melinda Frey, Ricardo Cortes, Candido Herandez, several great grandchildren, sisters Maribel, Carmen, and a brother Hector Ruiz all of PR.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband Anibal Cortes on April 25, 2016 and 3 sisters and one brother.
Services were private with burial in Calvary Cemetery with her pastor Rev. Gilbert Silva, pastor of the House of Praise, officiating.
The Schwartz, Spence, Boyer & Cool Home For Funerals, 1124 5th Street assisted the family with the arrangements.
