Georgia A. Fleming, 80, Enjoyed Following Cleveland Sports Teams

She was born in Neon, Kentucky on September 25, 1926 and had been a resident of Lorain since 1952. Georgia had been employed as a nurse’s aid at Anchor Lodge Nursing Home; she retired in 1986 following a career that spanned ten years with the nursing home.
A member of the Toledo Church of Christ, she was a loyal follower of the Clearview Clipper varsity football team; in addition, she enjoyed vegetable gardening as well as following all of Cleveland’s professional sports teams on television.
She is survived by her sons Michael Fleming (Susan) of Placitas, New Mexico, William Fleming and Lucky Fleming (Lynne) both of Lorain, and by her daughters Lisa Lachman (Jon) of North Carolina and Mary Ann Morrison (Tony) residing in Virginia. Georgia also leaves eleven grandchildren, nine great grandchildren, and sisters Reba Arnold, Betty Dunford, and Hazel Potter all residing in Michigan.
She was preceded in death by her husband Fred in 1978, infant daughter Nina Gay, father Clabe Potter, mother Anna Hall-Potter, brothers Roy Potter and Billy Bunch, half brothers Victor and Perry Potter, and sisters Opal Burke, Zella Barnes, and Beulah Stallard.
Visitation will be Wednesday from 4:00 until 8:00 p.m. in the Gluvna-Shimo-Hromada Funeral Chapel 3224 Broadway Avenue, Lorain. Additional visitation will be observed on Thursday in the Toledo Road Church of Christ 5075 Toledo Road from 10:00 .m. until the time of funeral services at 11:00 a.m. Mr. Jim Hiser will officiate. Burial will follow in Elmwood Cemetery.
