William Merl Edmond, 89, Enjoyed Hunting and Fishing

He was born March 4, 1927 in Norton, West Virginia and had resided in Lorain since 1952.
Bill worked in the coal mines in West Virginia for 8 years. When he moved to Lorain, he worked at US Steel in the 2 Seamless Mill for 30 years before retiring. He also worked for Uncle Bill’s Department Store and Ontario Department Store for 30 years.
Bill enjoyed hunting and fishing. He was active in Boy Scouts and served as a Scout Master for many years.
He is survived by his daughters: Nancy Marie Smith (Tate) of Frederick, Maryland and Penny Lou Davila (Vic) of Lorain; 5 grandchildren; 11 great grandchildren and several great great grandchildren; sister Dotty Koon of Lorain and brother Doyle Poling of Norton, West Virginia. He was preceded in death by his wife of 56 years Elsie V. Edmond (nee Bodkins) in 2005, daughter Anna Lee Blessing, sister Betty Jean Edmond and brothers Edgar Ward Edmond and Paul Frederick Edmond.
The family will receive friends Sunday January 15th from 3:00-7:00 pm at the Gluvna-Shimo-Hromada Funeral Chapel, 3224 Broadway Ave, Lorain where funeral services will be held Monday January 16th at 11:00 am. Burial will follow in Ridge Hill Memorial Park in Amherst Township.
