Beatrice P. Horton, 87, Enjoyed Family Vacations
Beatrice P. Horton, age 87 of Wakemen, formerly of Lorain, died Monday January 16, 2017 surrounded by her loving family.
She was born June 18, 1929 in Lorain and remained a resident until moving to Wakeman in 2004.
Beatrice was a 60 year parishioner of St. Joseph Church in Lorain, and currently is a member of Sacred Heart Church in Oberlin.
She had been a member of St. Joseph Church Ladies Guild. She was a very devoted loving mother, and enjoyed spending time with her family, grandchildren and great-grandchildren, and enjoyed family vacations. Her hobbies included sewing, gardening, cooking, baking pies, camping, birdwatching, and was an avid reader.
She is survived by her children Nancy (William) Kuhar of Wakeman, Larry (Melanie) Horton of Wakeman, Ellen Horton of Lorain, Kathleen Horton of Lorain, Christine (Gary) Lechuk of Lorain, grandchildren Christopher (Gayle) Kuhar, and Sara Kuhar (Paul), great-grandchildren Sophia and Jonah Kuhar, and a sister Frances Rottman of Lorain, and many nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her husband Edward in 2015, a son Thomas in 1990, sisters Anna Foster, Mary Steiner, Agnes Tomazin, and Josephine Horton, an infant brother Charles Horton, and parents Joseph and Anna (Teleha) Resek.
Friends may call Wednesday from 4 pm to 8 pm at Reichlin-Cooley Funeral Home, 2920 Broadway, Lorain. Funeral Services will be Thursday January 19th beginning with prayers at 9:30 am in the Funeral Home followed by Mass at 10 am in St. Mary Church, Lorain. Fr. James Becher and Deacon Luis Maldonado will officiate. Burial will follow in Calvary Cemetery.
