Mary Lou Judge, 81, Enjoyed Cooking & Baking
Mary Lou Judge (nee Rosiles), age 81, of Avon Lake, passed away peacefully, at the home of her daughter; on Friday January 20th, 2017; she was under the care of Mercy New Life Hospice.
Mary Lou was born in Lorain on April 9, 1935 and had been a resident of Avon Lake for the past three years. She had previously lived in Vermilion.
A 1955 graduate of Lorain High School, Mrs. Judge retired as an underwriter for the Awkwright Boston Insurance Company. She had previously worked as a switchboard operator for the Lorain Telephone Company, as well as a PBX operator for the American Ship Building Company. In her younger years she worked at Crystal Beach. It was there that she met her future husband, the love of her life. That union led to a fulfilling sixty-one year marriage.
A parishioner of St. Thomas the Apostle Catholic Church in Sheffield Lake, Mary Lou’s life revolved around her family; she enjoyed cooking, baking, and knitting in her free time. She was also an avid card player who enjoyed playing the slots.
Survivors include her husband Thomas, and daughters Tammy Nally (John Obray) of Gilbert, Arizona, and Cindy (Richard Sr.) Schaffer of Sheffield Lake. She also leaves grandchildren Richard (Sarah) Schaffer, Jr., Thomas (Bianca) Schaffer, Alexis (David) Stout, and Kara Nally. Additional survivors include great grandchildren Reagan, Aiden, Camden, Mackenzie, and Thomas, as well as her sister Loretta (James) Bursley of Chandler, Arizona
Mary Lou was preceded in death by her parents Jose and Ann (nee Pruchnicki) Rosiles, and by her step-father Mike Dimitroff.
Visitation will be Thursday from 2-4 & 6-8 p.m. in the Gluvna-Shimo-Hromada Funeral Chapel - 3224 Broadway Avenue, Lorain. Funeral services will be Friday beginning at 9:15 a.m. in the funeral chapel; a Mass of Christian Burial will follow at 10:00 a.m. in St. Thomas the Apostle Catholic Church - 521 Harris Road in Sheffield Lake. The Reverend Stephen L. Shields, pastor of the parish will officiate. Burial will follow in Calvary Cemetery.
