Carol Marek, 78, Enjoyed Reading and Visiting Casinos
Carol Marek (nee Muzek), 78, of Thousand Palms, California and formerly of Lorain, passed away on February 1, 2017 while under hospice care at Mengenta’s Villas in Cathedral City, California.
She was born August 15, 1938 in Lorain and was a graduate of Lorain High School Class of 1956-B. She lived in Thousand Palms, California for over 38 years moving from Strongsville, Ohio.
Carol worked as an Administrative Assistant at Sunshine Landscaping in California for over 35 years until her retirement.
She enjoyed reading, visiting casinos, country music, attending rodeos, rescuing stray animals and was especially devoted to her family.
She is survived by her children: Denise Leason (Keith Anderson) of Thousand Palms, CA and Michael (Dena) Leason of Cheyenne, Wyoming; granddaughter Amber Stream (fiancé Sergio Rodriguez) of Cathedral City, CA; William Stream of Thousand Palms, CA; sister Diane Freeman of Lorain, brother James Muzek (Donna Snyder) of North Ridgeville; first husband Wilford Lee Leason of Florida and several nieces and nephews. She also leaves behind two very special dogs, Tasha and Charlie. She was preceded in death by her husband of 42 years Ralph Marek, formerly of Cleveland, her parents Frank and Helen Muzek (nee Mraz) formerly of Avon and Lorain and brother-in-law Melvin Freeman of Lorain.
At Carol’s request, there were no services.

Arrangements were handled by Cremation Center of California in Palm Desert, CA and the Gluvna-Shimo-Hromada Funeral Chapel, 3224 Broadway Ave, Lorain.
