Brian P. Schmitz, 54, Enjoyed Model Railroading
Brian P. Schmitz, 54, of Lorain, died of a short illness on Thursday February 9, 2017 at Mercy Regional Medical Center in Lorain.
He was born April 20, 1962 in Lorain and had been a lifelong Lorain resident.
Brian graduated from Lorain High School in 1980. He enjoyed model railroading, music, camping and was an avid Cleveland Browns fan.
He is survived by his longtime companion Donna Klingshirn of Lorain, brothers: Jeffrey R. Schmitz (Barbara) of Marblehead, Dale E. Schmitz of Tampa, Florida, Mark H. Schmitz (Terri) of Des Plaines, Illinois and Edwin W. Schmitz, Jr (Pamela) of Vermilion and nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents Edwin W. Schmitz, Sr in 2003 and Patricia L. Schmitz (nee Bark) on July 28, 2016.
The family will receive friends Sunday February 12th from 4:00-8:00 pm at the Gluvna-Shimo-Hromada Funeral Chapel, 3224 Broadway Ave, Lorain. Funeral services will be held Monday February 13th at 10:30 am in the funeral chapel with the Rev. Edward Smith, pastor of St. Anthony of Padua Catholic Church in Lorain, officiating. Cremation will follow and his ashes will be interred at Ridge Hill Memorial Park in Amherst Township at a later date.
