Richard J. Lindner, 87, U.S. Army Veteran

He was born September 18, 1929 in Lorain and had been a lifelong Lorain area resident.
Richard attended Lorain High School and then served with the US Army during the Korean War.
He worked at Lake Terminal Railroad in Lorain as a brakeman retiring after 42 years.
Richard had been a member of Zion Lutheran Church in Lorain for over 50 years. He enjoyed hunting and fishing.
He is survived by his sons: Thomas Lindner of Wellington, Terrence Lindner of Elyria and Timothy Lindner of Elyria; grandchildren: Matthew Russeau, Christopher Lindner, Richard Lindner, Jaryn Lindner, Andrew Lindner and Makayla Lindner; great grandson Troy Lindner and brothers William Lindner (Barbara) of Elyria and Lawrence Lindner of Lorain. He was preceded in death by his wife of 56 years Mary Jane Lindner (nee Andrews) on January 1, 2009, infant son Christopher Lindner and parents Joseph and Rose Lindner (nee Pincura).
The family will receive friends Thursday February 16th from 3:00-6:00 pm at the Gluvna-Shimo-Hromada Funeral Chapel, 3224 Broadway Ave, Lorain. Funeral services will be held Friday February 17th at 10:30 am in the funeral chapel with the Rev. Gary Georgi, pastor of Zion Lutheran Church, presiding. Burial will follow in Elmwood Cemetery in Lorain.
