William P. Reynolds, Sr., 86, U.S. Air Force Veteran
William P. Reynolds, Sr. age 86, passed away in Haines City, Florida on February 12, 2017.
Born in Belden, Ohio on September 14, 1930, Bill had split his residence between Haines City and Lorain County since 2002.
He was a United States Air Force Veteran fulfilling duty assignments as an electronics specialist during the Korean War.
Mr. Reynolds was a retiree of Pfaudler Industries in Elyria and had served a number of years there as its union president. Bill is perhaps most well known as the owner of the Dinner Bell Drive-In in Elyria Township. He had owned the familiar Lake Avenue eatery for more than three decades.
A parishioner of St. Vincent de Paul Catholic Church, Bill was regarded as an extremely generous individual by all who knew him and he will be dearly missed by his family and countless friends.
In his fee time, he enjoyed hunting, fishing, and spending time with his family.
He is survived by his sons William P. Reynolds, Jr. of Haines City, Robert W. (Martha) Reynolds of Elyria, and daughter Cindy (Richard) Polyak of Arlington, Texas. He also leaves brothers Don (Jean) Reynolds, and sisters Ella Rauscher, Carol Rauscher, and Jane (Don) Hamric. Additional survivors include eight grandchildren, twelve great grandchildren, and step-daughters Linda Greene and Patricia Echko.
Mr. Reynolds was preceded in death by his wife Marie Reynolds, grandson William P. Reynolds, III, parents Arthur and Amelia (nee Frohlick) Reynolds, brothers Eddie Joe and Arthur Reynolds, sister Betty Lou Metzger, and ex-wife Minnie Hicks.
Please join his family for his funeral Mass at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday March 4, 2017 in St. Vincent de Paul Catholic Church, 41295 North Ridge Road, Elyria Township. Reverend Donald Dunson will officiate. Burial will take place in Elmwood Cemetery.
