Joan P. Csutoras, 81, Enjoyed Spending Time with Her Family and Dogs
Joan P. Csutoras (nee Frey), 81, of Amherst Township, died Thursday February 23, 2017 at Mercy Regional Medical Center in Lorain while surrounded by her loving family.
She was born August 6, 1935 in Lorain and had resided in Amherst Township for the past 10 years moving from Lorain.
As a teenager, Joan twirled the baton at Clearview High School. She worked at Scott’s Five and Dime and later Woolworth’s in Lorain and cleaned at the Broadway Building in Lorain.
Joan enjoyed spending time with her family and dogs, playing bingo, camping and crocheting.
She is survived by her children: Jeff Csutoras of Sheffield Twp, William “Bill” Csutoras of Amherst, Cynthia “Cindy” Cordy (Ron) of Amherst Twp and Patricia “Pat” Davis of Wellington; son-in-law Edward Davis of Wellington; grandchildren: Stephenie (Matt) Winland, Melissa Cordy, Kimberly Cordy & Patrick Csutoras; great grandchildren: Justin Winland, Taylor, Kayla, Cecilia and Stella Porinchok, Christopher Kloss, Jr and Benjamin Kloss; sisters: Beverly Wayda of Amherst and Carol (Frank) Caris of Elyria; brothers: Mark Frey of Wakeman and Greg (Janine) Frey of Sheffield Twp and many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her husband of 59 years Arthur B. “Archie” Csutoras in 2013, daughter Susan C. Csutoras in 2004, great grandsons Nathaniel & James, parents Carl R. Frey Sr and Mildred Frey (nee Hellinger), sister Merrie “Candi” Guelker in 2014, brother Carl R. Frey, Jr and sister-in-law Phyllis Frey.
The family will receive friends Sunday February 26th from 3:00-7:00 pm at the Gluvna-Shimo-Hromada Funeral Chapel, 3224 Broadway Ave, Lorain. Funeral services will be held Monday February 27th at 11:00 am in the funeral chapel. The Rev. Troy Thompson of Church on the North Coast in Lorain, will preside. Burial will follow in Ridge Hill Memorial Park in Amherst Twp.
