Louise Arrendondo, 85, Enjoyed Ceramics and Crafts

Born in Cleveland on July 31, 1931 she and her family moved to Lorain when she was an adolescent. A graduate of Lorain High School, Louise was formerly employed as an administrative assistant for the Thew Division of the Koehring Company.
A resident of Amherst since 1974, Louise was currently a parishioner of St. Joseph Catholic Church; she had also been a long-time member of the former Holy Trinity Church in Lorain where she was affiliated with St. Ann’s Lodge Branch # 114 of the First Slovak Catholic Union. In addition, she was a member of the Knights of St. John Auxiliary 46 Drill Team and had served as that group’s president in 1963.
She enjoyed a multitude of leisurely interests including ceramics, all forms of crafts, and travel. She was also an accomplished seamstress who enjoyed reading with a special fondness for mysteries and the works of James Patterson.
Louise is survived by her daughter Annette Arredondo-Waite (Mark) of Middleburg Heights and son Mark Arredondo (Stacy) residing in Colorado Springs, Colorado. In additional, she leaves grandchildren Jacob and Allison Arredondo and Hannah and Morgan Waite.
Mrs. Arredondo was preceded in death by her husband Alfonso Al Arredondo in 2013, her father Nicholas Lucas in 1997, mother Susan (nee Slosarik) Lucas in 1982, brother Lawrence Lucas in 1985, and sister Loretta Lucas in infancy.
Visitation will be Sunday March 12th from 3:00 until 7:00 p.m. in the Gluvna-Shimo-Hromada Funeral Chapel 3224 Broadway Avenue, Lorain. Funeral services will be Monday March 13th beginning at 9:15 a.m. in the funeral chapel. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10:00 a.m. in St. Joseph Catholic Church, 200 St. Joseph Drive, Amherst. Reverend Timothy O’Connor, pastor of the parish will officiate. Burial will follow in Calvary Cemetery.
