Peter Michael Newbert, 75, Enjoyed Golfing

He is survived by his two loving children P.J. and Jackie along with his brother Robert but most of all his 18-year Life Partner Mary Jane Husted and extended family Mindy Grude and grandchildren Beau, Brock & Zadie Grude and former son-in-law Ty Grude. He was preceded in death by his parents Peter V. & Sally Newbert (nee Conroy).
Pistol Pete, as everyone knew him, lived 75 years with no regrets and what he called a relaxed mind. As the family gathered with friends during his last days, pictures and stories were flooded with smiles and laughs. This fun- loving father figure to many made a unique impression on all that he touched. To mention all his friends would dominate most of the page but know that he enjoyed his entire life without a complaint.
As he golfed, bowled, partied, joked and taught, he was being taken care of by Mary Jane who made him a priority over herself. He was a Navy veteran and was employed by Ford, BF Goodrich and the State Prison System until he reached his favorite phase of life . retirement.
His family moved from Lawrence, Massachusetts so his father could continue working at the Lorain Ford Plant and that is how his local community got the pleasure of knowing him. He was once married and leaves two grown children who are eternally grateful for the life lessons and hardworking values he taught them.
Pete was a proud member of the Lorain Elks and a resident of Vermilion. He completed many of his bucket list adventures with his daughter Jackie and never got cheated in life. When someone says, a person left this earth too soon, they were not speaking of Pistol Pete Newbert.
He enjoyed traveling to the east coast, Put-In-Bay and making many golf trips to Florida and South Carolina and playing pool and cards. Known as Pop Pop to his grandchildren, he enjoyed attending their sporting events. He also coached his son P.J. and their baseball teams and was proud to have won the city championship.
