Dominic Berlingeri, 58, Cleveland Cav's Fan

Photo of Dominic  Berlingeri Dominic “Nick” Berlingeri, Sr. 58, of Lorain, went home to be with the Lord, Thursday, March 9, 2017 after a lengthy illness at Mercy Regional Medical Center.

He was born August 23, 1958 in Fontainebleau, France. He was a lifelong resident of Lorain.

“Hey, let me know if you need anything else, please?” Those were his endearing words to his friends! Nick would give the shirt off his back for someone in need.

He loved his family and friends. Nick loved life and was a very warm caring man. Everyone who knew him loved him. He loved music and lip syncing to the kids while acting as a rock star.

Nick worked at Parties To Go and No Place Like Home. He graduated from Southview High School Class of 1977. He was a huge Cav’s fan and loved all sports, but basketball was his favorite. He was a popular basketball player at Oakwood Park and St. Stan’s Gym.

He will be deeply missed by his son; Dominic Berlingeri Jr. of Lorain, daughter; Linda D. (Bob) Marquard of Aurora, cherished granddaughter Gabriella Berlingeri , father; Miguel A. (Carmen) Berlingeri of Lorain; brothers Miguel A. (Carmin) Berlingeri Jr. of Puerto Rico, Angel (Kat) Berlingeri of Tampa, Florida, Robert (Marie) Berlingeri of Richmond, Virginia, Wally Berlingeri of Myrtle Beach, South Carolina and Mitchell Berlingeri of Lorain; sisters Hilda Walker, Carmen (Ernesto) Garza and Gloria Gonzalez all of Lorain and Lourdes Berlingeri of Myrtle Beach; many nieces and nephews and as Nick would say “brothers from other mothers “ his best friends, Paul Gonzalez Sr., Nelson Velez, Orlando Velez, Wilson Velez, Julio Velez and Ivan Arocho.

Nick was preceded in death by his mother Herminia Berlingeri in 2011 and niece Jordan Gonzalez in 2008.

His family will receive friends Tuesday, March 14, from 4 p.m. until the time of celebration of life service at 7 p.m. at Richard J. Reidy Funeral Home 1783 E. 31 Street, South Lorain. Pastor, Bill Dickey of New Beginnings Church of God, Lorain will officiate.
