Delia S. Perez, 92, Enjoyed Crocheting and Making Crafts

Photo of Delia S. Perez Delia S. Perez, 92, of Lorain, went home to the Lord, Wednesday, March 15, 2017 surrounded by her loving family.

She was born February 10, 1925 in Lares, Puerto Rico. Delia came to Lorain in 1951.

Delia worked in assembly at the Brookpark Engine Plant 1 and cleaning engine blocks at the Cleveland Casting Plant Foundry. She worked there for over 10 years. She was a member of Sacred Heart Chapel, Lorain, there credit union and a member of the Cursillo movement. Delia was also a member of The United Auto Workers Local 1250, Brookpark. She was an excellent cook. Delia enjoyed crocheting, making crafts, flower gardens and selling jewelry. She loved to spend time with her family.

Delia will be deeply missed by her daughter Rose Mary (Ray) DeJesus of Lorain; sons Miguel “Tony” and Sixto, Jr. Perez both of Lorain; 6 grandchildren, 11 great grandchildren.

Delia was preceded in death by her husband Sixto Perez; a son Hector “Chino” Perez; her mother Maria Santiago and her sister Juana Lopez.

Her family will receive friends Sunday, March 19 from 2 to 4 PM in the Richard J. Reidy Funeral Home, 1783 East 31st Street, South Lorain. Friends may also call Monday from 8:30 until time of Mass of Christian Burial in Sacred Heart Chapel, 4301 Pearl Avenue, Lorain. Rev. Father William A. Thaden, Pastor will be celebrant. Her burial will follow in Calvary Cemetery, Lorain.

Her family suggests contributions to the Sacred Heart Memorial Fund, 4301 Pearl Avenue, Lorain, Ohio 44055.
