Mildred Ann Lundberg, 78, Loved to Bake Cakes

Photo of Mildred Ann Lundberg Mildred Ann “Millie” Lundberg (née Baran), 78, of Lorain, entered her new eternal home during the early morning hours of Tuesday April 4th at her home following a brief illness.

She will be rejoicing as she will be able to be with the love of her life Don Lundberg and many family members.

Millie was born on July 12th, 1938 in Leckrone, Pennsylvania to Andrew J. and Mary R. (née Uhrinchak) Baran. She graduated from German Township High School in McCellandtown, Pennsylvania. She was very involved in several activities during her high school years including; choir, drama, along with her favorite activity serving as the head majorette with her marching band.

Millie met her husband Don following her graduation from high school and married him one year later. They moved to Avon Lake finally making their home in South Lorain for 57 years. She was employed by Fisher Fazio’s for 19 years working as a baker and cake decorator in Avon Lake. Millie loved to bake cakes for family and friends for birthdays, holidays, and weddings. She enjoyed traveling, bingo and meeting up with her friends. Millie truly loved her family and cherished her children, grandchildren, and great granddaughter. She had enormous faith and loved her church. She sang in the choir and served as Alter and Rosary secretary for 4 years.

She will be missed by her children, Donnie Lundberg, Lorain, Marcy (Marvin) Calvert of Vermilion, Andrea “Dee Dee” Martinez Lorain, David (Deanna) Lundberg of Sumter, South Carolina, and Laurie Lundberg of Lorain, 9 grandchildren, one great granddaughter, brother Edward Lundberg of Fort Meyers Florida, sister Rose Zylak of Willowick, sister in law Betty Lundberg and several nieces and nephews.

In addition to her parents, Millie is preceded in death by her husband, Don in 2015, brothers, Andrew and Lou, sisters, Mary, Agnes, Evelyn, Ethel, Josephine, and Dorothy.

Her family will receive friends on Sunday April, 9 from 4pm to 8 pm at Richard J. Reidy Funeral Home, 1783 East 31 Street, South Lorain. Closing prayers will be Monday 9:30 Am in the funeral Home then Mass of Christian Burial at 10:00 am at St. Vincent De Paul Catholic Church, 41295 N Ridge Rd, Elyria, with Rev. Father Donald Dunson, Pastor celebrant. Interment will follow at Resthaven Memorial Gardens, 3700 Center Road, Avon.
