Virginia Robertson, 92, Wonderful Cook and Baker

She graduated from Lorain High School in 1942 and received a degree in sociology from Bowling Green State University in 1948. Her master’s degree in Social Work was completed at Boston College, Massachusetts.
Virginia began her career as a social worker specializing in adoption, for Catholic Social Services in Cleveland. Her next and most important job was raising her five children with her husband, Norman. She continued her social work at the Methadone Clinic in St. Joseph’s Hospital. Later, she was a Hospice volunteer in Lorain and also became a guardian ad litem for probate court, assisting senior citizens.
Fondly called Tusa Jean by her relatives, one could count on stimulating conversations filled with wisdom and humor. Jean enjoyed gardening, and was a wonderful cook and baker- gifting all with homemade goodies. She embraced the culture of living in various countries and loved sharing stories with young and old. She was an avid reader and lifelong learner.
Mrs. Robertson was a former parishioner of St Basil’s Romanian Byzantine Catholic Church. She was a long time member of Patria Romana Si Bihoreana Lodge.
