Wilfredo M. Melendez, 89, Enjoyed Playing Guitar
Wilfredo M. Melendez, 89, passed away on Monday, May 1, 2017 at Mercy New Life Hospice Center in Lorain, OH surrounded by his loving family.
Wilfredo was born in Orocovis, Puerto Rico on January 30, 1928 to his loving parents, Teofilo and Amparo Melendez. He moved to Lorain as a young man. Wilfredo married his beloved Neftali (nee Rivas) on June 8, 1955 and they raised five children together. He worked for Fruehauf Trailer Corporation for 19 years, Lake Terminal, Conrail Railroad and he retired from Angelica Healthcare. He enjoyed playing guitar and his horses. Wilfredo was a hardworking man, he loved his family and his life.
He is survived by his loving wife of over 61 years of marriage, Neftali Melendez of Lorain; children, Wilfredo M. Melendez Jr of North Carolina, Aida (Jeffrey) Ceh of Amherst, Vilma (Frankie) Almodovar of Lorain, Judy Caruso of Nevada and Eric (Paula) Melendez of Lorain; twelve grandchildren; fourteen great-grandchildren; and loving brothers and sisters.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Teofilo and Amparo Melendez; great-granddaughter, Gianna; son-in- law, Albert J. Caruso Jr; and loving brothers and sisters.
