Helen Ilcisko, 89, Enjoyed Spending Time with Grandchildren
Helen Ilcisko (nee Urban), 89, of Amherst Township, died peacefully at her home on Thursday May 11, 2017 with her family by her side.She was born May 3, 1928 in Lorain and had resided in Amherst Township since 1963 moving from Lorain.
Helen worked as a clerk typist at National Tube Company in Lorain.
She was a member of St. Nicholas Byzantine Rite Catholic Church in Lorain where she participated in church Bible studies, served as a cantor and was a member of the Rosary Society.
Helen enjoyed spending time with her grandchildren, sewing, quilting and gardening.
She is survived by her children: David Ilcisko (Debbie) of Amherst Township, Daniel Ilcisko of Vermilion, Kathy Sponseller (Ralph) of Lagrange, Kentucky and Laurie Bainbridge (Chuck) of Pleasureville, Kentucky; 16 grandchildren and 22 great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband of 53 years Joseph Ilcisko in 2001; daughter Connie Butler; parents John & Mary Urban (nee Marczi); one granddaughter; sisters Mary Demyan and Anne Gargasz and brother John Urban.
The family will receive friends Sunday May 14th from 2:00-6:00 pm at the Gluvna-Shimo-Hromada Funeral Chapel, 3224 Broadway Ave, Lorain. The St. Nicholas Rosary Society will recite the rosary Sunday at 5:00 pm followed by the Parastas Service at 5:30 pm. Panachida Services will be held Monday May 15th at 9:30 am in the funeral chapel followed by the Divine Liturgy at 10:00 am at St. Nicholas Byzantine Rite Catholic Church, 2711 W. 40th St Lorain. The Very Rev. Nicholas Rachford, pastor, will officiate. Burial will follow in Calvary Cemetery in Lorain.
