Lucy V. Monroe, 82, Hardworking Homemaker and Mother

She was born July 26, 1934 in Des Arc, Missouri to James O. and Mary J. (née Sheets). She came to Lorain in 1956.
Lucy was a loving and hardworking homemaker and mother, and an active member of Lorain Baptist Church, being a Sunday school teacher, helping in the kitchen and the nursery. She enjoyed league bowling at Rebmans, her rose garden and walking.
She will be deeply missed by her son David L. (Pearl) Monroe of Lorain and grandchildren Brandon Heyman and Amanda Durham.
Lucy was preceded in death by her parents, loving husband of 48 years Roy D. Monroe in 2006, and her daughter Peggy Heyman in 1995.
Her family will receive friends Monday, June 12 from 4 to 8 PM in the Richard J. Reidy Funeral Home, 1783 East 31st Street, South Lorain. Her funeral service will be Tuesday at 10 AM in Lorain Baptist Church, 2640 Palm Avenue, Lorain. Rev. Dempsey Miller, pastor will officiate. Burial will follow in Resthaven Memory Garden, Avon.
